Porsche 993 Carrera 2 Coupé

The Porsche 993 is the last air-cooled 911 and a perfect combination of classic styling with modern performance and handling. The 993 went even further after the 964 with a more streamlined body, an advanced rear suspension and a once again improved 3.6-litre boxer engine. In terms of styling, the 993 set the direction of the modern 911 and again had an improved (and faster) 3.6-litre boxer. Of course, many versions of the 993 were again marketed such as coupé, convertible and targa. Of course, also the turbo and RS models and some more specials like the GT2. Surely a 993 in its purest form is the rear-wheel-drive-only coupé.

The Carrera 2 on offer here is a very special car, because it was ordered in 1995 by none other than Jan des Bouvrie. True to his style, he chose the colour Grand Prix Weiss combined with a black interior. The car looks great and was also retrofitted with original 2-piece 18-inch Sport Classic 2 rims. In addition, this 993 is fitted with the Tiptronic S automatic transmission (with steering-wheel gearshift) which ensures above-average usability of this sports car. Still, a 993 Carrera is a seriously fast car. 272hp and 330NM may not seem like everything, but a top speed of 265kmh and 0-100 acceleration in 6.5 sec remain very good performances and, thanks to the tiptronic, also always reproducible without having to rape the clutch. Furthermore, this 993 was retrofitted with a set of perfectly seated sports seats with heating.

Our opinion

A 993 is really a very good car and, if properly maintained, problem-free and very reliable. A Carrera with a famous first owner, delivered original Dutch and in very good condition is rare. A great opportunity for an enthusiast of the last air-cooled Porsches looking for a car with a full history and attractive mileage.

Notes

This white 993 looks very good for its age and has only some minor signs of use. The rear wings and left front screen have a slightly larger paint thickness and as far as can be seen painted once due to cosmetic reasons. The interior also looks great.
