From the early years Porsche has always had Targa models in its program. In the Netherlands mainly known from the white Rijkspolitie Porsches that did surveillance. For them very useful because of the speed, handling and acceleration, but also because an air-cooled 911 could just drive backwards full throttle over the emergency lane without overheating!

Starting with the 993 model series, the removable targa roof was replaced by a huge sliding glass roof. After the 997 series, the completely rebuilt 991 model entered the market. Here the removable roof panel was reinstated, and how! Via an ingenious construction, the rear folds open after which the Targa roof disappears along the typical targa bracket under the lid. A fantastic solution and a treat to look at.

In 2016, the improved version of the 991 was introduced, the 991 MK2. Equipped with a modern 3.0 Turbo engine that revs like a turbine despite the turbo technology and delivers its power in a nice linear fashion. In the S version we have shown, it features all-wheel drive and the "fat" engine with a whopping 420HP.

Executed in Black, black with black rims an impressive appearance. The current owner has really enjoyed it as evidenced by the 115000 km he has driven it. Of course, the car is fully equipped and luxuriously equipped including a leather-clad dashboard. The car is one of the first MK2s and delivered in Germany in May 2016. In October 2017 the current owner imported it for business use and, after the car was taken private last year, he has driven it until today. Of course neatly maintained according to the booklet. The last service was performed at a Porsche specialist in June 2023 at 110,000 km.

Our opinion

A Porsche Targa is surely one of the most iconic 911's especially in the version as it is shown here. The mileage is as known with Porsche no obstacle as they are known for their durability with proper maintenance. Therefore a real driver with the corresponding signs of use for an attractive price.

About the seller

The seller has enjoyed his Targa immensely over the past 6 years. He also remains loyal to the brand because he is moving on to a Taycan, of course also a black one! He is going to miss the Targa, but the usability of a Taycan is a lot greater with a baby anyway.
