The 964 combines the best of both worlds. When it was introduced in 1989, the iconic lines of the primal 911 remained largely intact, but in the meantime 85% of the car was new. Equipped with power steering, ABS and a modern chassis, among other things, it is a classic which, by classic standards, is easy and good to drive. The bumpers were given more modern styling and, for the sake of handling at high speed, the car was given a fold-out spoiler, something Porsche still applies today.
For the 964, a new 3.6-litre engine was developed from the existing 3.2 Mezger block, which still makes the true air-cooled boxer engine sound. This is good for 250 hp. This means that, even by today's standards, this 964 still gets off the ground perfectly, thanks in part to its four-wheel drive. In the 964, tiptronic (rear-wheel drive only) and all-wheel drive were available for the first time.
The 964 Coupe we offer has a manual gearbox and all-wheel drive. Delivered in Germany. matching numbers, in the colour Schiefer metallic with sports seats and air conditioning and WITHOUT sunroof. This makes the car quite special and popular with sporty drivers. Also, this makes the car more suitable for taller people! This Porsche was first admitted to Germany on 30 April 1990 after which the 964 came to the Netherlands in 1997. The current owner has spared no expense over the past 16 years to bring the car into top condition. All critical points of the 964, such as the rust near the paravan, have been addressed and the engine was completely overhauled over 20,000 km ago. The air conditioning functions as it should, the suspension is freshly aligned(RS specs), weighted and fitted with Bilstein dampers. With the (original Porsche) 17-inch cup 2 rims, camberplates, it has become a perfectly steering car. To keep the engine healthy, the 964 has had an upgrade of the oil cooler and a cup exhaust for a just a bit better sound. In short, a perfect driver (especially without a sunroof) that is completely up to date both optically and technically and was recently valued at €80,000.00
Our opinion
In our eyes, a 964 is and remains THE Porsche that combines the classic look with more modern technology. That technology, if well cared for, is rock solid and lets you enjoy the classic 911 sound. This 964 has been fully restored by its current owner and is therefore in very good condition. As a coupé, with no sunroof and a manual transmission, a real driver's car!

Remarks
This 964 coupe is in very clean condition. The car has slight signs of use but looks very good overall. Everything functions as it should and booklets and invoices are present and substantiate the mileage. The owner has a printout of what all happened at what mileage. The repair of the odometer is also neatly documented. In recent years, serious investments have been made in the car to bring it to its current condition. The engine overhaul that was done over 20,000km ago was also seriously tackled and not just a new engine seal. Thus, all bearings, gears, chains, tensioners, piston rings, ignition etc etc were renewed and or overhauled. A complete report is present including photos. The 964 was fitted with new RS engine mounts as recently as August and comes with a fresh MOT.
