The Lancia Delta HF Integrale is the street version of the most successful rally car ever, with a design by Giugiaro. This is an iconic hot hatch in all respects. This example is an Integrale 8V which, thanks to various mechanical upgrades, produces over 200 hp. The car was imported to the Netherlands from Switzerland in 1998 and has been with the same owner since.
The Delta Integrale of course owes its legendary status first and foremost to rallying. The Lancia Delta is still the most successful rally car in the WRC history. The Delta HF Integrale dominated the Group A class, winning no less than six world championships in a row, starting in 1987.
Non professional rally drivers could enjoy these cars as well, since street versions had to be sold to homologate the rally cars. After the Delta HF 4WD, the Delta HF Integrale was introduced in 1987. With its all-wheel drive system, turbo and flared wheel arches, it was the ultimate hot hatch of its time.
Over the years, different engine versions of the Integrale have been offered. Since this is a Swiss example, it is an 8-valve engine with a catalytic converter. This means that the 2.0 litre four-cylinder with turbo delivers 177 hp as standard.
This might not be a spectacular number by today's standards, but this Delta Integrale is not primarily about numbers. With this car you have the pure experience of a rally car on the public roads. The central viscous coupeling, plus a Torsen differential on the rear axle ensure that the right amount of torque always goes to the right wheels.
That being said, this example has more power than standard. The car has been fitted with a larger turbo, a stainless steel spaghetti exhaust manifold and a new stainless steel exhaust system. As a result, power is estimated at around 210 hp.
The Lancia Delta Integrale is not only iconic because of its rallying background, but also because of its design. The basic design was drawn by master designer Giorgetto Giugiaro. With the Integrale, beautiful flared wheel arches were added, giving the car its iconic shape.
Especially in the yellow colour 'Giallo Ginestra' with the 16-inch Speedline Montecarlo rims, this Lancia is a feast for the eyes and a real eye-catcher. These Evo rims were not originally fitted to the Integrale 8V, but they definitely complete the look of this car.
As mentioned, this car was originally delivered to Switzerland before being imported to the Netherlands in 1998. The car has been registered in the Netherlands for 24 years now, with the same owner.
This Collectable will be auctioned without a reserve price (No Reserve). The highest bidder is therefore also the winner of this auction and can add this Lancia Delta HF Integrale to his or her garage.
Our opinion
A 'Delta Integrale' in 'Giallo Ginestra', that sounds fantastic, doesn't it?
A Delta Integrale is probably on every enthusiast's wish list. Because what a great car to look at and we hope that the next owner will drive it more than the current one. A yellow rally monster like this makes you smile, doesn't it?
The prices of the 'first owner, full history, hardly driven' cars went through the roof quite some time ago, making them too expensive to drive.
This owner, however, has always enjoyed his Delta to the full. First in Switzerland, later in the Netherlands. He always did the maintenance himself and thought the original colour was too dull, so he had it resprayed in Giallo Ginestra some 24 years ago. Maybe for collectors it's something 'not done', but it looks so good on this car.
Since the paint is not original and the maintenance history is not present, The Collectables cannot give a valuation for a minimum selling price. At the same time the owner has confidence in the quality of his Lancia, so it was decided to offer the Integrale 'No Reserve'.

About the seller
For the owner, it was love at first sight with this Lancia Delta HF Integrale. He took over this Lancia from his sister, who was its first owner, and has owned the car for 24 years now. According to him, it is an addictive car to drive and it elicits many positive reactions. "Drive it through Amsterdam and you'll be photographed 100 times, given a thumbs up 200 times and approached by all generations." But for the last 10 years he hardly got to do any driving, with the car being mostly parked in a storage. Therefore, after 24 years, it is time to say goodbye.
