If the description says 'Sold'. This can be achieved directly through the auction because the minimum selling price (the 'Reserve') has been reached and the commission paid. Or after the highest bid has been accepted, whether or not after mediation between the seller and the highest bidder by The Collectables.
This highest bid is shown in the lot description. So if a car is not on 'Sold', it is still under negotiation and / or available.
Only with a 'No Reserve' auction (so without a minimum sales price) the highest bid is automatically the price for which the car is sold. This is then clearly stated at the auction.
According to our standard, a car is only sold when it has been paid for and both parties are satisfied. In addition, some (new) owners prefer not to have us display the sales price (for example because of privacy and residual value of the car).
That is why you often see "Winning bid" at other auctions, which suggests that the car has been sold, but it really only indicates what the highest bid is.
If you want to know if a specific car has been sold, please contact us.
