Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 QV

The Alfa Romeo Spider was a success from the very beginning. The gorgeous Duetto was introduced in 1966 and was succeeded in the early 1970s by the Coda Tronca (Fastback) with a straight-cut rear end. Technically, the car really only evolved by using different engines, and the famous 2.0 double cam with some 130hp also made its appearance in the Spider.

In 1982 the Spider Aerodynamics came with a small rubber rear spoiler and from 1985 the name changed to 2000 Quadrifoglio Verde (Q4 = clover 4) with power of (depending on the country where it was delivered) up to 132hp.  The Italian beauty we have on offer, fiery red and an incredibly tasty rumble, is one of the latter type. It is exactly what you are looking for in an Alfa Romeo: fast, agile, the beautiful intake sound of the engine and of course in the colour red. Original Dutch delivery with verifiable kilometres and therefore a correct NAP.

The Spider does have some signs of use but is otherwise just fine. The gearbox was recently revised, a new alternator fitted and the springs replaced. Both the upholstery and the hood show a small tear and the tyres need replacing because of their age, despite sufficient profile.

Our opinion

Not a concours car, but that is why it is so much fun to just drive. An original Dutch-delivered Spider with verifiable odometer readings is hard to find.
