How lovely is this? A manual transmission, 1,330 kg light, roadster powered by a 295 hp 6-cylinder boxer engine. A beautiful composition of Arktis silver metallic combined with the cocoa brown leather interior and cocoa brown convertible top.
Delivered new at the time by Porsche Zentrum Hofheim, and on Dutch registration since 2010.
The first service was performed at Porsche Zentrum Aachen. Once in the Netherlands, the Boxster S has been neatly serviced every other year at a Porsche specialist. Even up to the last service in March 2023.
At the Paris Motor Show back in 2004, the Porsche 987 Boxster, along with the 997, was introduced. Sales began in 2005, with the coupe version (Cayman 987) also introduced at that time.
The 987 was the second generation of the Boxster. While many believed the differences to be nil, the connoisseur really sees it. The most obvious style change is the headlights, which now have a profile similar to that of the Carrera GT, Porsche's flagship 10-cylinder mid-engine sports car of the era. The intake grilles on the sides of the Boxster became larger, with more pronounced horizontal slats and were colored metallic silver, regardless of the paint color of the rest of the car. The wheel arches were enlarged to allow wheels up to 19 inches in diameter, a first for the Boxster series.
The main updates over the 986 series are found in the interior, with a circular theme in the instrument panel and cooling vents. Porsche claims that the 987 Boxster shares only 20% of its components with its predecessor.
For the 2007 model year, the base Boxster received a revised engine with VarioCam Plus for a 5-horsepower increase. The Boxster S's engine was upgraded from 3.2 liters to 3.4 liters, resulting in a power increase of 15 hp more. In total, the Boxster S gained 295 horsepower. These upgrades made the Boxster series and the Cayman series equivalent in terms of power.
Our opinion
What a tasty driver's car. Pure and unfiltered enjoyment, self-shifting and clutching. It doesn't get any more fun than this. Power enough and a fantastic 6-cylinder Boxer sound. They will soon no longer be made like this, unfortunately. A carefully maintained car like this cannot be a bad investment and will give the new owner a lot of fun.

Is het IMS lager ooit vervangen?

Goedemorgen Yves.
