Porsche 911 Carrera 4S (996).

Extra-wide hips, a full-length taillight and red brake calipers. The expert sees it right away, a Carrera 4S. Plenty of power, plenty of traction and a lovely sound, in other words. This is a brilliant version in Arktis Silber metallic, with a chic black leather interior. Further also rich in equipment including: Bose sound system, sliding/tilting roof and automatic transmission, but more on that later.

This 996 was originally delivered in the Netherlands (Porsche Amsterdam).
Maintenance in the first years was neatly performed by Porsche Gelderland. Then by Porsche specialist Haaglanden, and Porsche specialist Wisman. Of course, this is all properly stamped in the maintenance booklet.
August 2023 the last service was performed. So start right up and drive off.

Although many Porsche ''Fans'' criticize the 996 generation, it is and will remain a true 911.

Introduced in 1997, the 996 series is finally starting to get the appreciation it deserves. At the time reviled by the purists, "because a kettle. By now we are 26 years on and there appears to be nothing wrong with water-cooled. Moreover, in this generation 911 all switches are finally where you expect them, you have a perfectly working air conditioning and you can wring out such a relatively modern 911 thanks to sufficient horsepower, a not too big body and the necessary safety systems. Come and find that with a 993 or G model twice as expensive. It is not for nothing that many a car journalist privately drives a 996.

There is also a risk attached to the relatively low entry price for a 996. If a 911 is bought by someone who saves on maintenance, you end up buying a very expensive 911. Because in terms of maintenance (costs) it remains just a Porsche.

Our opinion 

We can be brief about this. An above-average 996, invoices, original Dutch and the right options. A golden opportunity.
Warm it up slowly, give it a yearly service and easily add another lifitime to it. Do not listen to the opinions, a 996 is a full 911 and is increasingly appreciated. Literally, because prices for decent ones are also rising. And with virtually no depreciation and daily usability, this is the ideal Youngtimer. This one also has four-wheel drive, so in winter you can just keep on driving and go to winter sports with a couple of carriers on the roof.

About the seller

''The well known boys dream of someday enjoying a beautiful 911 with its iconic
boxer engine. The 996 4S variant is special because of its Turbo looks and the one time only headlights in 911 history'' Says Laurens, on why he chose the 911 Carrera 4S.  

And yet, all good things come to an end. Laurens' next dream is on the way, expansion of the family. After many hours of fitting and measuring, the conclusion was drawn: stroller + baby and mother do not all fit in this fantastic car.
