Convertible enthusiasts had to be patient, but the wait was well worth it: four years after the introduction of the spectacular Audi R8, the Spyder arrived on the scene. With a V10. Like the Coupe version of the R8 V10, the Spyder is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2 liter V10 which delivers its maximum power output of 525 hp at 8,000 rpm. With that you accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a just 4,1 seconds, with a theoretical top speed 313 km/u.
In this example, the V10 sounds even better, thanks to a custom exhaust system. If you don't want to drive with the roof open, but still want to hear the engine, that's also possible because the rear window can be lowered separately. The roof can be opened and closed up to 50 km/h, so you don't have to look for a parking space when rain drops start to appear.
