In 2008, a smaller concept Range Rover (Land Rover) was exhibited, the LRX. The idea was to build a so-called compact crossover with the luxurious Range Rover feel and off-road capability of the Land Rovers. The target group was clearly also to appeal to the female audience. The car also had to be considerably more fuel efficient.
The Range Rover Evoque, was launched in 2011. The car is based on the platform of the Freelander, which in turn is based on a Ford platform. Like the concept car, it was a three-door coupé, with the idea that you could drive comfortably around town without being bothered by obstacles. Four-wheel drive was not standard on all models. The 2.0 Si4 four-cylinder petrol engine did have 4WD as standard in combination with the standard automatic. Besides the three-door, which Land Rover called a ‘Coupé’, there was also a five-door that had a higher roofline and therefore a bit more interior space.
In 2013 came the first facelift. Among other things, it featured a new automatic transmission and new options, colours, rims and trims. Of particular note is the ‘Active Driveline’ on the 4WD modelsbecause this AWD system works from the transmission. The system is more efficient and effective than the old Haldex system. The most special addition came in the form of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible. You could order the car with all engines, albeit only with all-wheel drive. Cheap the Evoque Convertible was not, as was its popularity..... Consequently, the Convertible soon disappeared from the scene. The coupé also gave way in 2018.
The Evoque we offered was delivered in 2017 in Germany by Auto Hartman, where it also received its first service. With less than 15000km on the odometer, the car was imported to the Netherlands by its last owner in April 2019. A copy of the first owner's papers are present with the car. As is often the case with cars from our neighbouring country, this Range Rover is also nicely fully equipped. The HSE Dynamic version with the 2.0 Si4 engine has just about everything you need on board and looks cool with the black 20-inch wheels, which contrast nicely with the white paint. The Land Rover is damage-free and has hardly any signs of use.
Our opinion
Something different again from an SUV from one of the many German brands. The Evoque really is a nice and sporty SUV with acceptable dimensions to cope well with city traffic. The version we offer is tastefully put together, has only had one previous owner and still has attractive mileage. So if you're in the market for a compact SUV, this one is definitely recommended.
About the seller
The last owner imported the Evoque from Germany after looking for a full Range Rover with low mileage from the 1st owner. After enjoying the car for five years, he traded it in for a Porsche Cayenne
