Few people know the story of the first edition silver Fatboy. Also known as "Hiroshima." It is a story with an impressive history, which has caused much comment in several countries.
In 1989 the Suzuki Intruder and the Honda Shadow were introduced in America. Harley wanted to respond to this Japanese competition with a new model drawn by W. G. Davidson. With Pearl Harbor in mind, "Harley threw a bomb at the competition with this bike" in 1990. The name Fatboy is a contraction of the atomic bombs called "Fatman" and "LittleBoy."
The name of the bike was not meant to riot, but rather as a reference to an event in history.
The Fatboy's tank emblem closely resembles the wing symbol of the U.S. Air Force U.S.A.F. The wheels closely resemble those of the B-29 superfortress bombers; the planes that carried the two atomic bombs. Harley Davidson made bomb cases during World War II. The bomb cases were silver and were painted with distinctive 7 yellow/gold rings: symbolizing the 7 continents. The engine has seven yellow rings: 1 on the ignition button, 1 on the primary inspection cover, 2 on the tank in the tank emblems, 2 on the cylinder heads, 1 on the primary case cover.
Not much later, several governments came out against Harley-Davidson's design. The Fatboy name still existed, but the silver color and yellow rings were no longer allowed to be used.
This Harley-Davidson Fatboy Hiroshima has since become a true collector's item, also due in part to the history of this model.
Our Opinion
Motorcycles are new to us at The Collectables. But a special Harley-Davidson like this Fatboy Hiroshima definitely fits right in. Not only is it a motorcycle with an impressive history. But its design and appearance also make it a true Collectable for us.
About the seller
The Harley was first registered in June 1990. Possibly this was by Harley-Davidson Canada itself. This suspicion is there because the factory warranty started April 1991.
In October 1992 the motorcycle was imported by the Dutch OIT Harley-Davidson in Breda.
The first owner is unfortunately not known, the second and third owners were brothers. They have owned the motorcycle between 2001 and 2005. In 2005 the motorcycle was sold to the current owner.

Beste Th, deze motor heeft in de vorige veiling de reserve niet gehaald, vandaar dat de motor nogmaals geveild wordt
En wat is dan de reden van het opnieuw plaatsen
