Bentley Flying Spur W12

The first-generation Bentley Flying Spur is still an imposing car. A perfect Saloon with a mighty 6.0-litre W12 under the bonnet. At the turn of the century, although Bentley was an illustrious brand, the models could not really be called ‘state of the art’. That changed with the Continental GT, the first Bentley under the Volkswagen banner. This car was a hit. It put Bentley back on the map. Shortly afterwards, Bentley came out with the limousine version, the Flying Spur. Technically the same car, but as a classic sedan a car with enormous space. Not least because of the mighty 6-litre W12 found under the bonnet, which provided a top speed of 315kmh, at the time the fastest limousine on sale. Thanks to two turbos, the W12 produces a whopping 560bhp and 650Nm of torque. That can be called spectacular, especially for a car introduced almost 20 years ago. Of course, a Bentley is not just about speed, but above all about comfort. With its adaptive air suspension and double glazing, the Flying Spur is THE perfect travel car. With its beautiful black leather upholstery with tartan pattern, many fine details and top-level finish, the interior has an unparalleled ambience. The Breitling clock in the dashboard is the icing on the cake. The only styleless thing about this car are the windows. In fact, there is no B-pillar, so with all the windows down, the car becomes even prettier if possible. Thanks to all-wheel drive (a first on a Bentley at the time), you can also put the generous amount of power and torque on the road at all times. And the family can just come along too, plenty of room!

The Flying Spur we offered was delivered by the Bentley dealer from Hamburg (Tamsen) on 31 May 2011. In 2012, the car came to Belgium via Dieteren and was driven there by a well-known Belgian minister. In 2014, the current owner took over the Bentley with less than 40,000km on the odometer and drove it for over 100,000km. Damage-free and always serviced by the Bentley dealer. The car is equipped with all options and otherwise fully documented.

Our opinion

The Flying Spur really is something special. A rare stately car with lots of space and unprecedented performance. You don't expect it when you see it, but you can quietly push the fattest Porsches and Ferraris on the German Autobahn. Although the model was released some 20 years ago, the car is still a beautiful sight. Unfortunately, many Bentleys ended up in the wrong hands because of its increasingly attractive price range. Maintenance became secondary and people preferred to invest in a different grille rather than fresh oil. Fortunately, this example has always received all the attention it needed from the official dealer.

This Bentley Flying Spur has hardly any signs of use as shown in the pictures. The car comes with Belgian registration and is still in its first paint as far as we know!
