This is an absolute beauty. The new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera. A fantastic design and at least equally great technical specs. The DBS name was previously used for the Astons produced between 1967 and 1972. In addition, between 2007 and 2012 there was a derivative DB9 model that bore the DBS name and was introduced by new James Bond Actor Daniel Craig in the movie Casino Royale.
Technically, it is a treat: a 5.2liter V12 Biturbo with a whopping 725 hp, 900 Nm, zero-to-hundred in 3.4 seconds, zero-to-hundred-sixty 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h.
The DBS has an aluminum body packed with carbon parts to keep the weight down as much as possible. Compared to the DB11, the car is over 70kg lighter and the Superleggera stands half a centimeter lower. The Aston sits on 21-inch wheels and rolls on wide Pirelli tires that the Italian tire manufacturer developed specifically for the DBS Superleggera.
The DBS Superleggera is a real beauty. The 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 produces 725 hp and 900 Nm of torque and brings that to the rear wheels via a specially developed eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, between which a mechanical barrier is mounted. The final reduction of the differential was shortened a bit, making the car even nicer on the gas.
The DBS Superleggera was delivered from the end of 2018. The current owner bought the car, which was produced in 2021, in Germany from the Aston Martin dealer, with only 300 km on the odometer. From this point of view, we can actually say that he is the first owner of this beauty.
New, the car is still available at a price of at least 375,000.00 euros. So with the addition of some nice options, you will soon be at the price of a nice semi-detached house in a medium-sized town....
Our opinion
What a great device. Super exclusive, a beautiful composition and in terms of performance amply comparable to the established order. Probably one of the last opportunities to enjoy an unfiltered V12 with rear-wheel drive!
Will you become the new James Bond?
About the seller
The owner purchased his DBS in 2021. It was delivered new from Aston Martin Cologne. This was an executive car with only 300 km on the odometer. After two years of great pleasure and just under 12,000 km driven, the owner decided to find a new enthusiast.
Not because he no longer likes the DBS, on the contrary. But simply because he doesn't get around to using the Aston Martin for what it was made for. Namely, making beautiful trips with it.
About his Superleggera, the owner writes: ''The most stylish and beautiful GT ever. It can easily compete with sports cars with a sportier image such as Ferrari and Lamborghini, but many times more stylish and perhaps even more important: much more pleasant to drive (cruise).
