Another work of art from the workshop of Alpina Burkard Bovensiepen GmbH & Co at our auction. The Alpina B10 (E39) with a 4.6L V8, that is something that excites us. Alpina is known for combining true power with a stylish body. They certainly succeeded with this one in 1998. At the time, Alpina chose not to drill out the cylinder walls of the block from the BMW 540i but, instead, to completely recast it. By casting a new block, the solidity of the cylinder walls is not lost and the block can more easily handle the displacement of a whopping 4.6L.
The embroidered version of this block, also called the B62, has received an output of 336 hp and omme near 470 Nm of torque. This power on BMW's well-known rear-wheel drive is a joy to drive and will make any enthusiast take a second look. The B62 engine ensures that this Alpina B10 has a 0-100 time of only 5.7 seconds which is certainly not bad for a car of 1700kg. In addition, it delivers a top speed of 280km/h which for this time, and still, is extraordinary.
This Alpina was I 1998 delivered with an "Alpina Weiss" exterior and a "Leder Schwarz" interior in Japan where the car has had 2 owners. In the year 2018, the current owner had the car to the Netherlands to enjoy it himself.
Alpina is of course known for making cars with lots of power, stylish materials and accents and, of course, exclusivity. To ensure the latter, Alpina often keeps to a limited edition, which is why this B10 is also number 396 in the series of 1,300 units worldwide.
About the seller
Our client Leo imported the Alpina himself in 2018 to the Netherlands and registered it put. Cars from Japan are often very well maintained and in pristine condition given the very strict regulations regarding road safety. After 5 years of optically enjoying this Alpina it was time to give it on to it's next owner for them to enjoy.
