About The Collectables
Who are we?
The Collectables is the independent Dutch platform by- & for petrolheads. We have an ongoing supply of cars that you may not need, but do want to own. Cars on offer range from a Peugeot 205 GTI to a Ferrari F40.
The transparency of the proven auction method leads to fair market prices, where demand and supply meet in a natural manner.
Our mission: to facilitate the sale and purchase of Collectables in a transparent and reliable manner. For current owners of Collectables, this should become the preferred method to sell their beloved car in a simple, rapid and risk-free way. For free.
Studied Business Studies at the Erasmus University prior to becoming a consultant. He found out that playing with cars is more entertaining than supporting companies and therefore started the Netherlands’ first (and today’s largest) car website: Autoblog.nl. He has steadily become the personification of this website, currently visited by over 2 million unique visitors each month. Wouter has tested more than 2.000 cars over the last 15 years. In his non-existing sparetime he also is a co-host of the weekly BNR (Business News Radio) feature National Car Show and is regarded as the conscience of the Dutch-speaking car fanatics.
Used to draw wheels on his sisters’ dolls as a kid. Joris visited classic car auctions all over the world and purchased cars in Austria, Japan and many other countries. He sold his own company specialized in high-end automotive events in 2018 after 17 years of travelling the world in the F1 circus. Common thread in his career are hospitality, tailor-made and overachieving on clients’ expectations. Most recently Joris worked as a Director for Pon Luxury Cars (Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini & Bugatti). He felt he missed the entrepreneurship and set out to change the way in which petrolheads buy and sell Collectable cars. Has more than 2 decades experience in implementing business improvements with companies globally, currently as CEO of an international consulting firm. His innate love for cars has resulted in a (too) large collection of cars, which he all tries to use as often as possible. As a serial buyer of dozens of cars, he has personally experienced how car purchases can be improved. Not only made more fun, but also more financially savvy from the buyers’ side. Tom collaborates with Joris and Wouter to ensure that The Collectables supports petrolheads, buyers and sellers alike, so that they can truly enjoy the cars by minimizing the hassle.
