Whereas the previous generation (E92) was still allowed to use an atmospheric V8, BMW is back with the familiar (and reliable) six-in-line engine in the fifth generation. What makes the F80 generation special is that this is the very first generation M3 with turbochargers.
Whereas a ''normal'' M3 already has 431 hp, an even more extreme variant is available; the
M3 Competition. Not only does the power go up to 450hp, but the M3 also gets a
sharpened M chassis consisting of different dampers, different springs, stabilizer bars, a different exhaust and new software for engine, drivetrain, chassis and safety systems.
Visually, the Competition is also a touch tougher compared to a non Competition. For example, the Competition features the Shadow-line package which provides black accents and is recognizable by the different seats.
But what if the sporty among us find even this not enough?
What if cornering stability needs to be even better? What if the M3 still doesn't brake hard enough? What if the suspension needs to be even better? What if the exterior could be a little tougher? And what if you want to enjoy even more intake and exhaust sound?
Then fortunately there is this M3.
With this Competition, only the most sensible and professional upgrades were performed. From HR stabilizer bars and a KW Clubsport suspension to an AP Racing big brake kit front and rear.
An Akrapovic titanium evolution exhaust system was also installed. Of course, the carbon fiber Eventuri intakes and FTP Charge pipes were not to be missed. Software wise, the engine, gearbox, differential and traction control has been modified to that of an M4 GTS, to bring the car to an even higher level.

Visually, too, the M3 has been taken in hand to further emphasize its sportiness.
Partly due to OEM F80 M3 CS parts like the hood and spoiler, but also by the Revozport carbon diffuser and the carbon & titanium exhaust trim you immediately see that this is anything but a normal M3. To finish off the look, lightweight PSG Forged wheels are mounted in sizes 19x9.5J front and 19x10.5J.
Our opinion
The upgrades have been well thought out. This way the car can be used daily, but when asked for it, the M3 turns into a track-worthy monster.
Also partly due to the optical modifications, it is a car that will make many a neck turn as you drive by.
About the seller
Philip, on whose behalf we are auctioning the BMW, is an absolute car enthusiast. At 17 , even before he had a driver's license, he bought his first car from the person he was working for at the time. A 1970 Alfa Romeo Giulia. He has been tinkering and restoring cars since he was 17. He also used to work at BMW as a mechanic, and his love for the brand never faded.
Over the years there have been many different license plates in Philip's name. From fast BMWs like an E46 M3 or an M140i to Mazda MX5s, and even a Lotus Elise.

Philip bought the M3 in 2022. Upon purchase, he immediately changed new spark plugs, oil and filters himself.
This was obviously child's play for him, given his past as a mechanic at BMW.
Remarks
Left side and front bumper have been repainted due to minor side damage. The front screen has been replaced in the process.
The CS Bonnet has been painted because it comes (oem bmw) carbon fiber.
